BACHELOR OF THEOLOGY

Purpose and Goals                              

The purpose of the Bachelor of Theology (BTh) is to provide students with a comprehensive knowledge of the Old and New Testaments and of Christian church, theology, and ministry.

This degree prepares students for entry-level professional ministries and for the theological seminary or other graduate education. Obtaining the BTh degree requires 120 semester credits, which may be completed within four years of full-time study. The curriculum lays a solid foundation in the Bible, theology and ministry with opportunities for advanced study; promotes a general understanding of history, culture and science; and fosters a life-long commitment to personal development.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Bachelor of Theology, students will be able to:

• Identify the basic contents of the Old and New Testaments.
• Demonstrate a maturing Christian faith and practice.
• Explain major historical events and basic doctrines of Christianity.
• Demonstrate a satisfactory competence in Christian ministry.

Program Requirements

• The completion of high school education or the equivalent is required for the BTh degree program.
• All students must complete at least 120 credits with a minimum GPA of 2.5 to receive the BTh degree.
