On February 16, 2024, USWA completed the Bureau’s approval of its application for verification of exemption status under the California Private Higher Education Act of 2009. This demonstrates that Reformed Mission University of America (RMUA) has met the requirements for regulatory exemption under California Education Code (CEC) Section 94874(e). RMUA is a “nonprofit religious corporation established, maintained, managed, and operated by a lawfully operating religious institution.”

The application demonstrates that Global Mission University has met the qualifications for exemption from regulation under the Act, passed to California Education Code (CEC) section94874(e): "An Institution owned, controlled, and operated and maintained by a religious organization lawfully operating as a nonprofit religious corporation.."
